Wind Farm Installation Vessels:
At Everbright our expert design engineers are currently designing several Wind Farm Installation Vessels.
A wind turbine installation vessel is specifically designed for the installation of offshore wind turbines. Similar to a liftboat it is self-elevating. To enable quick relocation in the wind farm and it is self-propelled. These vessels will have a slender ship shaped hull to achieve a quick turnaround time while carrying several foundations or wind turbines. Azimuth thrusters are used to position the vessel during jack-up operations.
While our Liftboat designs are under final stages of approval, we will soon follow with designs for wind mill installation.

Experience is the Absolute Most Critical Element in Any Jackup Design?
Inexperienced Engineering and project management will often lead to huge cost overruns or even abandonment of an entire project as has been proven time and time again. Shipyard and Component supplier selection play a major role in this as well. Getting into greater detail, inexperienced engineering leads to the inappropriate selection of major & minor design components. This will have long term effects on the vessel's ability to meet contract requirements, vessel performance, premature component failures, and unexpected losses in income.
